Supporting the Clayton Education Foundation

Our vision is to be a sustainable resource that supports innovative learning opportunities for Clayton students. We will work toward this vision by involving alumni and the community in fulfilling our mission: to advance the School District of Clayton’s culture of educational excellence.


We support the District’s commitment to provide all students with an education that empowers them to be leaders, think critically and creatively across disciplines, ask and answer complex questions and collaborate in solving real problems. Our schools must prepare students with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in and out of the classroom.


One of the District’s identified strategic plan objectives is to ensure integration of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education throughout the PK-12 curriculum.


A robust STEM education is a vital component of developing learners and leaders and opening up a world of career opportunities. A 2013 study by the Brookings Institution indicates that 22 percent of St. Louis jobs are in STEM fields. Nationally, the STEM workforce accounts for more than 50 percent of our economic growth, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.


Whether our students become scientists, IT professionals, lawyers, journalists or teachers, they need to be proficient in skills to succeed in our dynamic digital world. A more fully integrated STEM education will help our students become self-directed learners, critical thinkers, creative problem solvers, effective communicators and collaborators.


Technology and innovation are powerful allies in unlocking the potential of our teachers and students. The challenge is that tax dollars alone are not enough to fund the latest technologies, real-world learning opportunities and innovative educational practices that truly educate, inspire and empower learners and leaders of tomorrow.


Your tax-deductible contribution to the Clayton Education Foundation will support:

  • Equipping teachers with skills and tools to advance the innovative integration of STEM education in PK-12.
  • Global, entrepreneurial and advanced learning opportunities for students, such as the Foundation’s recent grant to support the Clayton High School Robotics Team’s participation in the FIRST Robotics World Championships.
  • State-of-the-art technologies that foster:
    • Innovative approaches to teaching and learning;
    • Proficiency in skills required for tomorrow’s world; and
    • First-rate education standards, assessments and support systems.
