About The Clayton Education Foundation
The Clayton Education Foundation was founded in 1995 by a dedicated group of parents and community members interested in enhancing the tradition of educational excellence, beyond what traditional tax dollars cover, for students attending Clayton Schools. While the Foundation was initially managed by a group of volunteers, the District realized the benefit for formalizing the Foundation. In 2009, a development director was hired and since then, a Board of Directors has been established to help in creating the vision for the Foundation.

The Clayton Alumni Association operates under and receives funding from the Clayton Education Foundation. Events such as the Clayton Alumni Hall of Fame and the Alumni Barbecue are possible because of the support of the Foundation. The Clayton Education Foundation is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.

Grants for Teachers
During the 2011-2012 school year, the Clayton Education Foundation will be awarding up to $10,000 in grants. The Foundation is looking for innovative, creative ideas that focus on all grade levels and in all curricular areas - academic, artistic, athletic, extracurricular, civic and character development and provide global, entrepreneurial and transformative opportunities for students and staff. We are looking for new ways to reach students that will create a lasting change in their learning experience.

Global signifies "stretching” minds through activities and opportunities for students to grow intellectually and emotionally beyond common boundaries to cultures, societies and events. Entrepreneurial signifies the willingness to take risks in investigating and exploring avenues of knowledge. Transformative signifies opportunities and experiences that will change the way students understand a concept or an opinion. Transformative experiences will undoubtingly vary with individuals.

Our Mission
The mission of the Clayton Education Foundation is to raise and distribute private funds to assist the School District of Clayton in maintaining and enhancing its tradition of educational excellence.

Our Goals
  • Provide grants to support transformational, entrepreneurial and global opportunities for students and teachers.
  • Provide a permanent avenue for gifts from alumni, parents, staff and members of the community.
  • Develop a structure for funding designated projects.
